Kellogg coached letsrun.com founders and brothers, Weldon and Robert Johnson. Kellogg helped Weldon from 30:13 10 000m college runner to eventually PR with a 28:27 10km at Mt. SAC Relays.
Kellogg was a respectable runner himself, albeit never elite with regards to national standards, he did run a 14:22 5000m with 400m speed of no more than 57 seconds.
Kellogg has become well-known for his writing and involvement on letsrun.com forums, helping and sharing his training philosophies, strategies, and advise on training with curious runners, as well as commentating on running news. He is a highly respected online figure!
